11月5日（水）インド姉妹校来校6日目（書道体験）　　Wednesday, November 5th - 6th day of the visit from the sister school in India (Calligraphy Experience)　　

　本日、11月5日（水）もインドからの生徒たちは、ホストファミリーの生徒とともに本校の通常の授業を受講していただきました。そして、放課後に書道室で書道体験です。講師は本校芸術科教諭の荻野先生。埼玉県美術展で今年度、最高賞である埼玉県知事賞を受賞した優れた指導者です。（https://ogawa-h.spec.ed.jp/blogs/blog_entries/view/525/faf5b002e72dfd7cf14252a9435560ae?frame_id=810）まずインド姉妹校の生徒には自分の名前をヒンズー語で色紙に書いてもらいました。そしてインドの生徒たちの名前を漢字で書いてもらいました。生徒たちは漢字を見よう見まねで書いていましたが、なかなか上手に書けていたと思います。漢字で書いた作品は自宅へのお土産に。そしてヒンズー語で書いてもらった色紙は本校書道室に展示の予定です。

　書道は日本の伝統芸術です。書かれた文字の芸術性だけでなくや書かれた言葉の意味、使われている用紙の美しさ等、総合的な文化・芸術だと思います。インドの生徒たちが、楽しく実体験したところから、日本文化の奥行きを感じ取ってい頂けたら有難いと思います。

Today, Wednesday, November 5th, the students from India attended our school's regular classes together with their host family students. After school, they had a calligraphy experience in the calligraphy room. The instructor was Mr. Ogino, an art teacher at our school. He is an excellent instructor who won this year’s highest award, the Saitama Prefecture Governor's Award, at the Saitama Prefecture Art Exhibition. First, the students from the Indian sister school wrote their own names in Hindi on colored paper. Then, they wrote the names of the Indian students in kanji. The students imitated the kanji by looking at it, and I think they did quite well. The works written in kanji will be taken home as souvenirs, and the colored paper written in Hindi will be displayed in our school's calligraphy room.

Calligraphy is a traditional Japanese art. It is not only about the artistic quality of the written characters but also about the meaning of the words and the beauty of the paper used, making it a comprehensive cultural and artistic experience.

We hope that the Indian students, through this enjoyable hands-on experience, can gain a deeper understanding of Japanese culture.
